Greater Stability with Big Wheels Normally trikes with large rear wheels are unstable due to problems with rear wheel flex and rear end instability. Thus we have made special GS rear hubs with a much wider flange spacing than normal, which has...

Bought this trike because of the 26 inch rear wheel. The drum brakes stop nicely and the seat has a good amount of adjustability. I only wish the seat had just a little more padding.

Pros:
Cons:
I've always been drawn to the design of Greenspeed trikes, and my recent acquisition of the Magnum Big Wheel has been a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Having previously owned an old GT3 Greenspeed, I decided it was time to indulge myself with a new trike. The Magnum Big Wheel, in my opinion, stands out from other brands in the industry due to several distinctive features.

One noteworthy feature is the adjustable seat height, allowing for a personalized configuration tailored to individual needs and riding preferences. The inclusion of Bar end shifters, extra-strong wheels, and a rear mudguard adds to the appeal of the Magnum Big Wheel. The seat, known for its comfort and breathability, aligns perfectly with my preferences. The absence of padding in the seat contributes to a cooler experience, and the shock cords provide a subtle touch of suspension.

Folding capability was a crucial factor for me, and the trike's folding process is remarkably straightforward. With three quick releases, the seat can be effortlessly removed in seconds. The trike incorporates a center hinge in the frame, facilitating easy folding, and the rear portion smoothly folds over the front without the need to remove any pannier bags, rack top bags, or fold handlebars.

In terms of weight capacity, the Greenspeed Magnum Big Wheel is well-suited for individuals ranging from 180 lbs to 400 lbs. My hope is that Greenspeed will introduce a full-suspension version in approximately five years, providing a compelling reason for me to consider another Greenspeed trike purchase. The Magnum Big Wheel has proven to be a versatile and comfortable ride, and I eagerly anticipate potential future innovations from Greenspeed.

New 2023 version

Pros:
Cons:
Unfortunately, my initial Greenspeed Magnum Big Wheel was pilfered while we were staying overnight at a hotel, despite being securely locked on the back of my trike rack with a lower quality cable lock. Undeterred, I opted to replace my stolen trike with another Greenspeed Magnum Big Wheel, this time the 2023 model.

The newer 2023 version shares many similarities with my older 2020 trike, with one notable exception: the new trike features only two chain rings upfront, whereas my previous model had three. While the two-chain setup suits my riding locations well, those navigating particularly hilly areas might find a slight advantage in the triple chain ring configuration.

Another change worth mentioning pertains to the brakes. Although I cherished the drum brakes by Sturmey Archer on my older trike, Greenspeed informed me that they were unavailable for the new model. Consequently, I had to make the switch to disc brakes. While this alteration didn't compromise the ease of removing the front wheels, it does necessitate the use of tools for the task. Despite these changes, I remain satisfied with my Greenspeed Magnum Big Wheel
